If you are lucky enough to go in the beautiful lagoon city just during ust this spring 2010, do not miss a very interesting exhibition which is currently in the second floor of Palazzo Fortuny. From March 27 you can enjoy the incredible collection of objects and costumes (mostly armor, helmets, clothing war) of the legendary world of the samurai.

This will enable the visitor to take a real dive in the past thanks to the wide range of exhibits, all from a private collection, the Koelliker Collection, which has a authoritative prestige both for quantity and quality. Although the military caste of the samurai made Japan's history for just seven centuries, that exhibition in focuses on a period that goes from the Azuchi Momoyama period (1575 - 1603) to the Edo period (1603 - 1867) and refers accessories and items that belonged to high-ranking samurai: that's why is a real marvel for the eyes the extreme care with which they were made clothes and armor, with details and decorations that enhance a world that has been command and a symbol of social status.

The exhibition, curated by Giuseppe Piva and produced in collaboration with the Fondazione Mazzotta and the City of Milan, will remain open until July 18. Do not miss!
Hours: daily from 10am to 6pm (ticket office closes one hour earlier), closed Tuesday and May 1st.
