This year the centenary of Futurism in Italy is celebrating at the best in the most important cities like Rome and Milan. Venice also tributes that art movement, which Manifesto of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti was published in 1909 on "Le Figaro".
From February 18 until the end of the year Peggy Guggenheim Collection, at Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, houses a special exhibition curated by Philip Rylands.
There are paintings, sculptures and works on paper that comes from the Gianni Mattioli Collection, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and other private collections.
Particularly valuable to the initiative are the names of the artists who sign such futuristic creations, Balla, Boccioni, Carrà, Russolo and Severini, which are the five signatories of “Manifesto Tecnico” of futuristic painting, but also some other prominent figures linked to the movement, such as Roses, Sironi and Soffici.
This is an opportunity to further recognize the prestige of Gianni Mattioli, one of the most important collectors of the last century, who knew how to recognize the importance of the Futurism, the revolutionary avant-garde movement that marked the art of twentieth century.
